PREP Hockey Spectator Policy
PREP Hockey Spectator Policy
At PREP Hockey we encourage all fans and students to come out to support the team in a fun and respectful manner. Hockey is a fantastic spectator sport and it is filled with excitement and emotion. Please support the PREP Hockey Club and its rink partners by respecting the rink, players, referees and attendees.
PREP Hockey, in accordance with our Rink partners, reserves the right to refuse entry or eject any attendees that do not abide by this policy.
Spectators shall not:
- Use obscene, offensive or vulgar language/gestures, including swearing, to anyone at anytime;
- Openly dispute, argue or protest a decision made by an Official or Security personnel;
- Taunt players, coaches, officials, or other spectators (verbally or through use of gesture(s)) by means of baiting, ridiculing, threatening physical violence;
- Throw any object in the spectators viewing area, player’s bench, penalty box or on the ice surface;
- Bang on the Rink Glass; – A warning will be issued and, if repeated, offenders or groups of offenders will be asked to leave.
- Note: If you are asked to leave the rink (guilty or not), do it! Refusal to leave or attempts to discuss the reasons for your ejection with the PREP Security will only escalate the situation. Leaving the rink means leaving the rink; do not return to the seating area or attempt to watch the game through the doors. Illegal behavior or extreme disruption may be reported to the police and the spectator risks being banned from the rink or other PREP activities permanently.
- Spectators in any area of the rink; inside or outside, are required to abide by these rules and any other rules implemented by our rink partners.
PREP Hockey club loves our fans and encourages everyone to come out and support the PREP players. Let us all do so in a fun and respectful manner for all to enjoy!

Player Academic Agreement
PREP Hockey Club encourages Student-Athletes to achieve the best grades possible in all academic work. Playing hockey for PREP Hockey Club should not become a priority over academics.
PREP Hockey Club players, along with their parents or guardians, are responsible for keeping PREP coaches and the Director of Hockey advised when a player encounters academic challenges or poor performance that requires the player to increase his or her academic focus. PREP Hockey Club players are expected to furnish current academic grade reports upon request by a team coach or Director of Hockey.
PREP Hockey coaches, Director of Hockey, and Board members will fully support a parent’s or guardian’s decision to not allow a player to participate in PREP Hockey games, practices, and/or events due to academic reasons.

However, under certain circumstances, sanctions may be imposed without a hearing.
The general procedure for imposing sanctions is:

The player shall not return to on-ice practice and games or participate in PREP activities until evaluated by and receiving written clearance to participate as no-contact or contact hockey from a licensed healthcare professional.
If a player receives an injury that requires medical attention or evaluation by a physician the player shall not return to on-ice practice and games or participate in PREP activities until written clearance to participate as no-contact or contact hockey from the attending physician is received. Written clearance provided to the team coach or hockey director will be on file with the PREP organization registrar.
FALL SEASON INJURY REFUND POLICY
PREP Hockey Club is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors which includes managing the activities, relationships and finances of the club. The costs to run the Club are largely fixed. For instance, the Club does not get a discount on fees for ice rental simply because players are not able to skate. However, the Board desires to provide a reasonable refund if a player is injured as a result of Prep Hockey Club activities and cannot participate in Club activities for an extended period of time, while still maintaining the needed funds to cover all expected Club expenses for a given year.
As such, the Board is permitted to award a refund to the family of an injured player of up to 25% of the player fee paid for that year. This will only be available for the Fall Hockey Season.
A Fall Season Injury Refund Request may be submitted to the Board if the following conditions are satisfied by a player injury:
- The injury must have occurred during a Prep Hockey Club activity before December 31st
- The player must have been injured for at least 8 weeks
The Board will consider each request on a case-by-case basis and will determine an appropriate amount based on the circumstances related to each injury and their decision will be final.
